SHOWS / amores

Soundtrack: Oswaldo Montenegro
Choreography: Ariadna Vaz and Washington Cardoso

A show divided into four acts, with original choreographies and an original soundtrack composed and performed by singer-songwriter Oswaldo Montenegro. The work deals with the ambiguity of emotional relationships and the contingencies that run through them — a scenic celebration of the power of affection, passion and the many forms of love.

Beyond a simple love story, Amores seeks to reflect on the human condition itself within the universe of desires and expectations through which we build our experiences. In this sense, the show establishes a hybrid aesthetic, exploring the relationship between dance and song on stage. Beyond the choreographies, all other elements — set design, lighting and costumes — work together to create a poetic atmosphere of lyrical images, beneath the music and voice of Oswaldo Montenegro.

On stage, the Company’s dancers explore intense gestures, visceral compositions and poetic connections that overflow with emotion, physical dialogue and total commitment. Amores speaks of romantic love, but also of fraternal love — the love that heals, that breaks apart and that transforms. An ode to human experience in its deepest essence. With an enveloping soundtrack and minimalist set design, the show invites the audience to feel, reflect and see themselves in every movement. Art that touches, that pulses, that dances love in its infinite possibilities.
