About Us

Founded in Goiânia, Fohat Dance Company was built on a singular premise: that dance, at its most powerful, is both technically rigorous and emotionally alive.

Since 2001, when the Company received its first invitation for an international tour, Fohat has grown into one of Brazil’s most expressive contemporary dance ensembles — bringing together versatile, exceptionally skilled dancers whose work moves fluidly across styles, techniques, and forms.

Over the past two decades, Fohat has mounted productions and tours across Brazil and internationally, with one unwavering purpose: to enchant and amaze.

Ariadna Vaz

Artistic Director

Trained in Architecture and Urban Planning at PUC Goiás and in Classical Ballet at the Royal Academy of Dancing, Ariadna Vaz brings a rare structural precision to her artistic vision.

Her advanced studies took her to New York — the Joffrey Ballet and Melissa Hayden for classical technique; the Broadway Dance Center, Steps, Alvin Ailey, and Fred Benjamin for jazz, contemporary, and tap — and to Rio de Janeiro’s Jazz Carlota Portela.

A multi-award-winning choreographer recognized at national and international festivals and on Rede Globo, Ariadna has led Studio Dançarte since 1986. Under her direction, Dançarte — now Fohat Dance Company — has performed in Brazil, Germany, France, Portugal, Turkey, and the United States.
